Description:
Context:
This project was produced as part of the Applied Layout for Publishing course (412-406-RO). It involved designing a training manual of fewer than 50 pages for the Office Technology Department, specializing in Micro-Publishing and Hypermedia, at Cégep de Rosemont. The manual was based on a free theme and applied professional concepts learned in class.
Completed in five weeks using a hybrid learning approach, this project aimed to rigorously structure the pages, adhere to a grid, integrate typographic principles, and employ a coherent and dynamic color palette. An editorial brief and sketches were submitted for approval before the final layout, and fictional texts generated by AI were used to enrich the content. Discussions were also held with the instructor regarding adapting the design to the Cégep's graphic charter: using the Gotham font, typical of institutional documents, and integrating the department and/or Cégep logo into the layout.
Result:
A structured and engaging training guide, combining editorial rigor, visual consistency, and respect for the Cégep de Rosemont's graphic identity. The final product has been optimized for educational use and portfolio presentation.
