Description:
Context:
This project was completed as part of the course Graphic Design of Internal Newsletters and Journals (412-453-RO). The objective was to modernize 50% of a four-page newsletter from 2001 published by the Quebec Ministry of Families and the Committee for the Prevention of Infections in Childcare Services and Schools. The goal was to maintain the spirit of the original newsletter while giving it a more contemporary style. The project underwent further revisions after the course to enhance its quality.
Process and Art Direction:
• Analysis of client needs and clarification of expectations
• Partial redesign of the layout: calculation of margins and positioning of all text and images, reorganization of sections, and improvement of the logo and headings
• Research into a new color palette and fonts that resonate with the theme
• Production, proofreading, and delivery of the project
Result: The instructor praised the professional quality of the work, a rare achievement in several years of evaluating this type of project, reinforcing my skills in editorial design and managing semi-professional typographic constraints.
